Parent/Youth Interest Systems Of Care (SOC) Core Team
WANTED: PARENTS and TEENS!
The Building On Each Others Strengths (BOEOS) Systems Of Care cooperative agreement and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has partnered with the Idaho Federation for Families for Children’s Mental Health to recruit and identify parent and adolescent members as part of the core team traveling to select grant conferences. We are seeking participants who can make a long-term commitment (approximately 4 or more years) to the team.
We are searching for two parents who have a child with a SED currently in the system and one (1) adolescent who has been diagnosed with a SED and eligible for services (under 21), all of whom can best represent a family/youth voice in the development and implementation of a Systems Of Care in Idaho.
Representatives will be asked to attend select conferences (approximately 2-3 per year) averaging one week per conference. Selected parents and youth will participate in various workshops and activities and be asked to gather information and share with other team members both at the conference and at special presentations/trainings in Idaho.
Parent/youth participation (travel, lodging, per diem, child care assistance, chaperone assistance) will be funded by the BOEOS and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. Travel stipends may or may not be included. The adolescent selected will need to make accommodations with his/her school to ensure assignments are not hindered by their absence when participating in the designated Systems Of Care conferences.
These are volunteer positions and are not offers of employment with any agency/organization affiliated with the Systems Of Care cooperative agreement. Family members allowed to serve include:
- 2 Parents
- 1 Adolescent
- Up to 2 attendants for the child (preferably a parent/care provider)
Questions may be directed to the IFFCMH (208-433-8845) or the BOEOS (208-334-6960).
If you can help, please complete the VOLUNTEER FORM and let us know your interests and experience.
